The first step is your decision to call us for a free consultation and estimate. Once we meet, we determine the best site and placement for your pool that maximizes its efficiency and your enjoyment.

We'll discuss many topics that include the design of your pool area, your priorities for use of space, your budget, as well as safety and building code issues.

Our second meeting consists of reviewing your project by discussing our design drawings, options, and pricing. Once approved, we can secure the necessary permits that will allow construction to commence.

Fifteen Steps to Your Backyard Paradise

  • Excavation - We dig that big hole in the ground that is based on your custom design. We remove most of the soil the same day.  Depending on the size of your pool/spa, this process usually takes from one day to two or three days.
  • Installation of steel - These rods are placed completely in and around the pool, giving the pool the strength and durability it needs.
  • Rough Plumbing and Electrical - We install all the conduits and pipe necessary to run the water through the filter, return lines and spa jets.
  • Building Inspections - Insure all work is done to building code at each required step.
  • Gunite Installation - We "shoot" and then shape the gunite into the excavation over and under those steel rods. Steps and benches are formed.
  • Curing - To strengthen the gunite, you will water the pool with a garden hose for 7-10 days.
  • Coping - It's time to install the top "edge" of your pool with the material of your choice.
  • Tile - Tile is installed to the waterline.
  • Decking - Walkways and sitting areas around the pool are installed.
  • Equipment - Energy efficient pump, filter and heater is installed. Optional solar equipment available.
  • Fencing/Gates - Before water can fill your pool, necessary code requirements are met with the installation of your fencing.
  • Plastering - Smooth plaster now covers the pool area to provide the finished "look" to your pool.  Pebble-Tec is also available.
  • Fill Pool - Water is filled with immediately after plastering is complete.
  • Start Up - We show you how to care for your pool, not only its operation.  After start-up, we highly recommend hiring a pool care specialist for maintaining your pool’s operation.
  • Enjoy your Malibu Pool & Spa!
